Dr Marc Mandell - Consultant Psychiatrist
BSc Psych, MB.BS, MRCPsych
Dr Mandell is the medical director in The Thinking Space. Trained at St Bartholomew's Medical School in London, Dr Mandell has been fully registered with the General Medical Council since 1998, and a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 2002. He specialises in both General Adult and Old Age psychiatry and continues to work full time in the NHS.
In The Thinking Space, Dr Mandell is available for mental health assessments and can provide medical treatments, as well as medico-legal assessments. He offers medical input to our therapy team to formulate the best care plan for each client.
He is fully accredited in general adult and old age psychiatry.
Ms Tien Mandell - Clinical Director
BSc(Hon) Psych, Dip Clin Hyp, MSc CBT (with Merit)
Tien has worked in a variety of settings from NHS primary care to The Priory Hospital, with experience in treating mild to chronic mental health conditions. Her skills include a comprehensive knowledge of cognitive behaviour therapy and its developments, with reference to existential psychology to achieve the best care depending on the presenting problem. These therapies empower individuals to realise their potential, ability and resources to make changes for themselves effectively and in the shortest time possible. Tien helps people to understand "happiness", a state of emotional well-being and how they can reach this state of contentment in their lives. Tien receives regular case supervision and training to ensure professional development. Tien is a member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and British Association of behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy, and abide by their code of conducts and Ethics of good practice.
Dr Adam Duncan - Clinical Psychologist

Adam has worked as a psychologist in a broad range of clinical settings. Before and during professional training, he has worked with clients experiencing mental health problems from across the lifespan, sometimes complicated by brain injury or learning difficulties. Since completing training in 2004, he has worked as part of a community team in North London with adults experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems. He adopts an eclectic/integrative approach to therapy, drawing on cognitive-behavioural and psychodynamic principles amongst others. His continuing professional development is ensured through regular case supervision and attending workshops/conferences.

Miss Catherine McClafferty - Associate CBT Therapist
Dip.he Mental Health Nursing, Bsc Hons Cognitive behavioural Psychotherapy
Catherine is a qualified cognitive behavioural psychotherapist currently working in the NHS and private practice. Her background is in mental health nursing and has worked in the established Priory Hospital for many years. Catherine completed her therapy training at the well known Kings College London and uses the most empirically grounded cutting edge therapeutic interventions.
Catherine has extensive experience working with a range of presenting problems and severity. She has been supervised by a national specialist treating body dysmorphic disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder.
Her areas of specialty are depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), social anxiety, self-esteem and specific phobias.
Catherine has a keen interest in behavioural analysis, contextual psychology and therefore strongly values a collaborative therapeutic relationship.
Catherine abides by the BABCP code of conduct and standards of practice. She is attends regular workshops and training and is also a member of the BABCP behavioural activation special interest group.
All our practitioners are fully insured for both public liabilities and professional indemnity and undertakes regular supervision and professional development.
